Zinchouse Winery & Brewery
My local spotlight this month is Zinchouse Winery & Brewery. I have the privilege of living very close to this gem of a place and have very quickly become a regular. I find myself telling everyone I know (family, friends, even strangers lol) about Zinchouse because it is just that special. The views are absolutely stunning and will mentally transport you right to the beautiful mountains of Asheville. Not only does the team do an amazing job making you feel welcomed, they also curate a one of a kind experience for the triangle.
Zinchouse has everything! They have amazing wine and beer; a wide variety of food trucks, live music, wine tasting (led by their amazing sommelier Jack), tasting experiences (where they pair wine and food), yoga, and so much more! You can even celebrate all the wonderful accomplishments and milestones of your life here, as they have an event/ reception space available for bookings. I could write all day about my love for Zinchouse and all of its endless possibilities but I’ll do yall one better! I was given the chance to interview the owners Mike and Kimberly Tenoever and am excited to share this interview with all of you. I think once you read through everything, you too will be regulars at Zinchouse!
How did Zinchouse come to be?
It all started back in 2002, when Mike purchased the property. In 2006 the house was built on the property and in 2010…we married and built more on to the house. Around 2012…we started clearing land…adding the pond…then moved on the 3 other buildings on the property. Lots of our visions & desires came from some of the lovely wineries near Charlottesville, Va. (King Family Vineyard is one of our favorites).
What is your overall vision for Zinchouse?
To create a place where you can sit back & relax while enjoying a fantastic glass of wine and/or beer. We have an expansive property that allows for families & dogs…as well as a multi-level winery & brewery with the top two levels dedicated to “adults only” for a little relaxation. We strive to have a place for all to enjoy…no matter what stage of life you’re in.
What can people expect when coming to Zinchouse?
We’ve heard so many comments from our customers from…”it feels like being in the mountains of Asheville” to “it feels like an Adult Disney!!” We would say…just expect the unexpected…while relaxing, taking in the views, food trucks, music & great wine & beer.
What do you want your customers to feel when they visit Zinchouse?
Happy, Content, Relaxed & Excited! The best compliment we receive from our guests is they “love it and can’t wait to come back with friends and family.” We strive to have everyone feel the urge to be a “walking billboard” for ZincHouse Winery & Brewery!!
What’s one fun fact you would like people to know about Zinchouse?
If you love it now…there’s more to come!! From brewing our own beer & making our own wine, in addition to putting in a distillery & cigar bar, some lodging and a 17,000 sqft building dedicated to wedding & corporate events.
